Introduction

Access to reliable statistical data is essential for good planning and policy decisions. Keeping in view the increasing day to day demand for reliable data by national and international researchers, planners and policy makers about higher education statistics, statistical unit was established at HEC in september 2004. At present this unit is led by a D.G, followed by director and two assistant directors.

Objective

To access the data requirements, plan, collect, compile and analyze information about universities and degree awarding institutions (DAIs) etc, so as to make it a major source of information for the researchers, planners and policy makers.
